The True Origins of Hadith
Are the hadith collections we know really the words of God's Messenger? Let us dig further into the true origins of Hadith and discover how most Muslims have been following these anti-Quranic texts for centuries.
As we all know, God promises us that He will protect the Qur'an from any form of corruption (15:9, 56:77-78). That being said, the man-made books of hadith, which we're all compiled about 200 years after the Messenger's death, aren't so flawless.
Imam Bukhari stated that he recorded 300,000 hadith in total, but only accepted a few thousand of them in his collection. This tells us that he, along with other hadith collectors, simply chose the hadiths they "thought" were authentic into their collection.
Similarly with Imam Muslim, he collected 300,000 hadith, and yet again, only extracted approximately a few thousand for inclusion into his collection based on his own criteria. The wide variety of hadith we have today were collected all by word-of-mouth through several people that they deemed "trustworthy". This whole concept in itself is very unreliable. To make matters even worse, Bukhari's collection along with others are stamped "sahih" on them by some "scholar" and all of a sudden nobody would dare question the authenticity of the collected hadiths.
It must be borne in mind that for the first two centuries of Islam, there were no hadith books or so-called tafsir books. These were written much later when the prophetic prohibition to write his hadiths were broken. For the first two centuries, the Muslims performed all obligations stated in the Qur'an. The environment was filled with distorted hadiths and lies attributed to the Prophet but this did not prevent the Muslims to carry out Quranic commandments.
The idea of blindly following anyone or anything goes deeply against the teachings of the Qur'an:
"And do not uphold what you have no knowledge of. For the hearing, eyesight, and mind, all these you are responsible for." (Qur'an 17:36)
The Qur'an advocates the human being to use reason, to not blindly follow the masses:
"The worst creatures with God are the deaf and dumb who do not comprehend." (Qur'an 8:22)
"And He is the One who gives life and brings death, and to Him is the alteration of the night and the day. Do you not comprehend?" (Qur'an 23:80)
"He has misled mountain loads of you. Did you not comprehend?" (Qur'an 36:62)
Moreover, God opposes the popular notion of clergymen, which has drifted many people from devoting themselves to God by understanding the Qur'an, in the following verses:
"Then We sent in their tracks Our messengers. And We sent Jesus, son of Mary, and We gave him the Gospel, and We ordained in the hearts of his followers kindness and mercy. But they invented Monasticism which We never decreed for them. They wanted to please God, but they did not observe it the way it should have been observed. Consequently, We gave those who believed among them their recompense, while many of them were wicked." (Qur'an 57:27)
"They have taken their Priests and Monks to be patrons besides God, and the Messiah, son of Mary, while they were only commanded to serve One god, there is no god except He, be He glorified against what they set up." (Qur'an 9:31)
The only true way to follow the Prophet Muhammad is by following the Qur'an alone, as all his examples are in there. The Prophet himself only followed the Qur'an as his source of law and guidance.
The gravest crime made by the self-appointed scholars was to give authority to the man-made traditions (Sunnah) and the books of so called sayings (Hadith) alongside the authority of God and His messenger. They believe that it was God who authorized such action by commanding the people to "obey God, and obey the messenger"…
"Whoever obeys the messenger has obeyed God; and whoever turns away, We have not sent you as a guardian over them." (Qur'an 4:80)
What is so sadly neglected is that the most critical aspects of the Messenger’s life have been recorded and captured in the most detailed manner… not in the man-made books of Hadith or tradition… but in the Holy Book itself. The questions that he was asked, and the answers (inspired by God) that he gave:
"They ask you about intoxicants and gambling. Say: 'In them is great harm, and a benefit for mankind; but their harm is greater than their benefit.' And they ask you how much are they to give, Say: 'The excess.' It is thus that God clarifies for you the revelations that you may think." (Qur'an 2:219)
"And they ask you concerning the Spirit. Say: 'The Spirit is from the command on my Lord, and the knowledge you were given was but very little.'" (Qur'an 17:85)
The list of questions and answers goes on throughout the Book of God… This is the life of the Messenger, and this is the ‘obedience’ of the messenger… Without ‘obeying the messenger’, we would inadvertently ignore nearly 1/3 of the Book of God which deals with his most authentic narrations authorized and inspired by God which we have been commanded to follow…
“Nor does he speak from personal desire. It is a divine inspiration." (Qur'an 53:3-4)
Many hadith followers claim that the Qur'an supports the following of hadiths by purposely twisting the verses from the Qur'an. For example, they use this verse out of context to spread their lies:
"Take what the messenger gives you and abstain from what he forbids you." (Qur'an 59:7)
Above was a small part of a whole verse quoted in isolation, out of context. The verse in full form is in the context of a war and reads:
"Whatever gains God has turned over to His messenger from the inhabitants of the villages belong to God, the messenger, kinsfolk, orphans, the needy, and the traveler. This is explained so that you do not just circulate it among those of you who are rich, take what the messenger gives you and abstain from what he forbids you. Be mindful of God, God is severe in punishment." (Qur'an 59:7)
It is clear that the portion:
"take what the messenger gives you and abstain from what he forbids you."
is referring to the booty of war recovered which the Messenger will distribute to those in need.
Shias and Sunnis usually take this portion of the verse and quote that part only, out of context, in an attempt to deceive people that the Messenger has forbidden more things not found in the Qur'an. They do this to form a completely different meaning than the one intended by God to serve their own personal agenda and to manipulate people.
God says the following with regards to these sorts who take portions of God's verses, then deliberately hide or twist their meanings for vain gains:
"Among them is a group who distort the Book with their tongues so that you think it is from the Book when it is not from the Book. They say, 'it is from God', but it is not from God. They tell a lie against God and they know it." (Qur'an 3:78)
Another popular verse that is claimed to support the following of hadiths and sunnah is the fact that the Qur'an says that Muhammad is an excellent example for the Muslim community:
Certainly, the messenger of God is an excellent example for whoever seeks God and the Last Day, and remembers God frequently. (Qur'an 33:21)
The context of the verse is a battle where Muhammad’s courage and devotion to God serves as an excellent example for the believers, both at the time of the revelation, as well as for future generations since the Quran is timeless. This “excellent example” provided by the prophet during a battle has simply nothing to do with the fact that Muslims would have to follow questionable Hadiths attributed to Muhammad and written down two centuries after his death.
A very simple proof that traditional Muslims quote 33:21 completely out of context is the following verse where “Abraham and those with him” are also said to be “good examples”:
Certainly, there is for you a good example in Abraham... (Qur'an 60:4)
Does 60:4 imply that we should follow the hadiths and sunnah of Abraham? We obviously do not have hadiths and sunnah of Abraham, thus the good example provided by Abraham is no other than the example narrated by the Qur'an itself; by the way, verse 60:4 mentions a mistake that he made regarding praying for his father’s forgiveness.
Muhammad and Abraham are therefore both shown providing good (and sometimes bad) examples in the Qur'an and this is certainly not a hint that we should follow the hadiths and sunnah of the prophet other than what is mentioned in the Qur'an. Again, we are witnessing that hadith followers try to manipulate the meanings of the Qur'an to claim that we should follow their filthy hadiths. It is not what the Qur'an says.
The Qur'an provides numerous times the clear command to "follow God and follow the messenger".
For example:
(3:32) Say: “Obey God and the messenger”; and if they turn away, then indeed God does not love the disbelievers.
(4:13) These are God’s limits; and whoever obeys God and His messenger, he will admit him to gardens below which there are flowing streams.
Trinity, a doctrine which does not make any sense whatsover, became an unquestionable belief in the Christian world after centuries of persecuting and killing whoever would not believe in it. In a similar way, Sunnis and Shias has brainwashed Muslims to believe that the hadiths written down (for the earliest ones) about two hundred years after the Prophet are perfectly authentic and reliable as long as a chain of supposedly reliable witnesses has been identified. Just like it is the case for trinity in Christian circles, every Muslim is taught from childhood that such hadiths are unquestionable; anyone who does not believe in them is considered an infidel.
In reality, there is not one court of justice in the world that would give any credit to a testimony that has been passed down orally for two hundred years before it was eventually written down. Why wasn’t that testimony written down right away to begin with if it is that reliable?
Everyone has a strong tendency to follow the crowd blindly, and this is why people fail to see how impossible and ridiculous such a claim is.
Do any of the many verses of the Quran which command to "Obey God and the messenger" tell us to "follow God and the hadiths and sunnah which were going to be written down 200 years after Muhammad passed away"? Of course not.
On the contrary, such verses tell us that:
- (1) When Muhammad was alive, the believers had the obligation to obey him in every way. The Prophet would never issue something outside of the Qur'an or something that would contradict with the Qur'an.
- (2) Now that Muhammad is dead, we have to obey God and the messenger’s teachings that are perfectly preserved directly in the Qur'an, and certainly not the unreliable fables written down 200 years after his death by mostly those of Persian descent who's forefathers belonged to the ancient fire worshiping religion known as Zoroastrianism.
God proclaims that His book is fully detailed and is all we need to follow to become true Muslims:
"Shall I seek other than God as a judge when He has sent down to you the Book fully detailed?" (Qur'an 6:114)
"We have cited in this Qur'an every example for the people. But the human being is always most argumentative." (Qur'an 18:54)
"We did not leave anything out of this book." (Qur'an 6:38)
"And We have revealed the Book to you which has clear explanation of everything, and a guidance, mercy and good news for those who submit." (Qur'an 16:89)
"Should We treat the ones who have surrendered the same as those who are criminals? What is wrong with you, how do you judge? Or do you have another book which you study? In it you find whatever you wish to find?" (Qur’an 68:36-38)
"Among the people, there are those who accept baseless hadiths (الْحَدِيثِ) to mislead from the path of God without knowledge, and they take it as entertainment. They will have a humiliating retribution." (Qur'an 31:6)
Chinese Whispers
There's a great example to prove that the way hadith were collected weren't very reliable. Ever heard of the term "Chinese Whispers"? The process of corruption of any piece of information through the verbal transmission of that information through a number of people is what's called "Chinese Whispers".
The following is an example:
The lecturer in a college course was talking about the verbal transfer of information, demonstrating the effect of verbal transfer of information on altering an original message.
He asked 10 people to come forward from his audience. He then asked 9 of them to leave the hall, and then gave the one in the hall a small piece of paper to read out to the audience .....
The man read the following extract from the Bible:
"After this Jesus went down to Capernaum in company with his mother and followers and his disciples, but they did not stay there long. As it was near the time of the Jewish passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. There he found in the temple the dealers in cattle, sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers seated at their tables. Jesus made a whip of cords and drove them out of the temple, sheep, cattle, and all."
After that, the lecturer took the piece of paper from the first man and put it in his pocket. He then called the 2nd man in, and asked the first man to repeat to the 2nd man the words that he had just read out from the paper.
The man said the following:
"After this Jesus went down to Capernaum in company with his mother and his disciples, and they stayed a long time. After that Jesus went back to Jerusalem. Beside the temple he saw people who were buying cattle and pigeons, he also saw money-changers. Jesus kicked them all out."
Now the lecturer asked the third man to come in and asked the second man to repeat what he had just heard from the 1st man. He in turn said:
"After this Jesus went down to Jerusalem with his mother and some of his disciples and stayed for a couple of days .... After that Jesus went back to the temple. Beside the temple he saw people who were buying cattle and pigs, he also saw money-changers. Jesus shouted at them and told them they were wicked."
Once again the next man came in , and the message was repeated as follows:
"One day Jesus was in Jerusalem with his mother where he was was for many years .... but one day Jesus left Jerusalem and went to a far away. Beside the temple he saw people who were buying horses and pigs, he shouted at them for having so much money and told them that money was wicked."
By the time the next man narrated the same story it became:
"Jesus was born in Jerusalem and lived with his mother for many years there .... one day Jesus went to the market place in Jerusalem and in the market he saw people who were riding horses and selling pigs, he shouted at them for having so much animals and money asked them to give their money to charity for it is wicked."
In turn, the next man said the following:
"Jesus was born in Jerusalem and lived with his mother all his life .... one day Jesus went to the market place in Jerusalem and in the market he saw people who were riding horses and selling pigs, he shouted at them for their cruelty to the animals and asked them to give up all their money or to make sure their animals are well fed."
In turn, the next man said the following:
"Jesus was born in Jerusalem and lived near a market place where there were lots of people mistreating the poor pigs and whipping their horses ......... one day Jesus went to the market place and saw those wicked people who were only interested in selling their pigs, they were very loud and rude to him, so he did not reply back but cursed their money and left ..."
The reader is now invited to go back and read the first account of this story and then once again read this last one which was only the 6th new narration!
What is also important to note is that this incident took place in a period of 10 minutes in a lecture, which would mean all participants would have good reason to remember the content of the message. What would be the case with hadith, of which a large portion of them being pages long that were transmitted through multiple people (6-10 different men) and over a period of 200-500 years?
We must also note that the ten men in the lecture were all honestly trying to repeat the story as best as they can remember. We cannot accuse any of them of deliberately trying to corrupt the story they were narrating.
What this indicates is that the corruption in transmission is not necessarily due to bad character or the dishonesty of the narrator, but rather due to the altering of the facts through a sequence of verbal transmissions. These transmissions were from humans who cannot be expected to have tight proof memories.
Sadly, many scholars have assessed the authenticity of many hadith through a character reference of the narrators! If the narrator was of good character then they would label the hadith as authentic. Which is hard to prove since only God truly knows what's in the heart and the soul.
A story narrated across 200 years by 6 to 10 different men in a chain is very difficult to authenticate.
Hadith Forgery
From the book, "The Textbook of Hadith Studies" by Mohammad Hashim Kamali: Chapter 7: "Hadith Forgery":
Paragraphs 1 to 3:
Extensive forgery in hadith was commonly known and acknowledged to have occurred in the early decades of the advent of Islam. It is believed to have begun following the turmoil over the murder of the third caliph, Uthman, which dealt a heavy blow to the unity of the umma. This momentous event is held responsible for the emergence of serious political differences and partisan groups such as Shia, Kharijites and Mutazila, as well as the onset of forgery in hadith. Hadith forgery was to a large extent an epiphenomenon of these developments and the conflicts they precipitated eventually led to the collapse of the early caliphate barely forty year after its inception.
A forged hadith or al-mawdu, may be defined as a report, invented by a liar, who has attributed it to the Prophet and it may include either the text or both the text and isnad of the report. Even if this is done with a pious purpose in order to promote what is deemed to be a good cause, it would still count as a forgery and no credibility would be given to the motive and purpose of a deliberate forgery. Hadith forgery has not been confined to isolated cases but took rather a wide dimension barely before the end of the first generation of Muslims in Madina. A part of this phenomenon has been associated with the expansion of the territorial domains of the Islamic state and the ever increasing number of new immigrants of Persians, Romans, Egyptians, Syrians and others who were easy prey to misguided influences against hadith.
The historical origins of forgery in hadith are somewhat uncertain. While some observers have given the caliphate of Uthman as a starting point, others have dated it a little later, at around the year 40 hijra, when political differences between the fourth caliph, Ali and the governor of al-Sham, Muawiya, led to military confrontation and the division of Muslims into various factions. According to a third view, forgery in hadith started even earlier, that is, during the caliphate of Abu Bakr when he waged the war of apostasy (ridda) against the refusers of zakah. But the year 40 is considered the more likely starting point for the development of serious and persistent differences in the community. Muslims were thus divided and hostility between them acquired a religious dimension when they began to use the Qur'an and Sunna in support of their claims. When the misguided elements among them failed to find any authority in the sources for their views, they either imposed a distorted interpretation on the source material, or embarked on outright fabrication.
Paragraphs 5 to 6:
Forgery in hadith is believed to have begun in the context of personality cults (fada'il -al-ashkhas) which aimed to credit or discredit leading political figures with exaggerated claims. An example of this is the following statement attributed to the Prophet: "Whoever wished to behold Adam for his knowledge, Noah for his piety, Abraham for his gentleness, Moses for his commanding patience and Jesus for his devotion to worship - let him behold Ali."
Political differences between Ali and Abu Bakr, Ali and Muawiya, Ali and Aisha, between Abd Allah b. Zubayr and Abd al-Malik b. Marwan, and generally between the Umayyads and Abbasids were among the causes for hadith forgery. Numerous fabricated hadith have thus been recorded in condemnation of Muawiya including, for example, the one in which the Prophet is quoted to have ordered the Muslims "When you see Muawuya on my pulpit, kill him." The fanatical supporters of Muawiya and the Umayyad dynasty are, on the other hand, known to have fabricated hadith such as "The trusted ones are three: I, Gabriel and Muawiya." Political motives also seem to be behind the so-called hadith, for example, that "When the caliphate reaches bani al-Abbas, it will not leave them until they surrender it to Jesus the Son of Mary."
Paragraph 8:
The heretic faction known as al-Zanadiqa, (pl. of Zindiq), owing to their hatred of Islam, fabricated hadith which discredited Islam in the view of its followers. Included among such are: "eggplants are a cure for every illness"; and "beholding a good-looking face is a form of ibada". It is reported that just before his execution at the time of Caliph al-Mahdi, one of the notorious fabricators of hadith, Abd al-Karim b. Abu al-Awja, confessed that he had fabricated 4,000 ahadith in which halal was rendered haram and haram was rendered halal. It has been further reported that the Zanadiqa have fabricated a total of 14,000 ahadith, a report which may or may not be credible. For a statement of this nature tends to arouse suspicion as to its veracity: even in fabricated matters, it is not a facile task to invent such a vast number of hadith on the subject of halal and haram.
Paragraph 10:
Known among the classes of forgers are also professional story-tellers and preachers (al-qussas wa al-waizun) whose urge for popularity through arousing emotional response in audience led them to indulge in forgery. They made up stories and attributed them to the Prophet.
Paragraphs 11-13:
Juristic and theological differences constitute another theme of forgery in hadith. The ulama were thus divided into the Ahl al-Sunna, Mutazila, Jabriyya, Murijia etc., and they disagreed over many issues, such as the attributes of God, the definition of faith (iman), whether faith is only a state of mind or that it relates to both belief and conduct, whether faith is liable to increase or decrease, whether the Qur'an is created or uncreated and so forth. Some of these differences are known to have led to exaggerated statements, even forgery, in hadith.
Another category of fabricated hadith is associated with the religious zeal of individuals whose devotion to Islam led them to careless ascription of hadith to the Prophet. This is illustrated by the forgeries committed by Nuh b. Abi Maryam on the virtues of the various suras of the Qur'an. He is said to have later regretted what he did and explained that he fabricated such hadith because he saw people who were turning away from the Qur'an and occupying themselves with the fiqh of Abu Hanifa and the battle stories of Muhammad b. Ishaq and that he did so as part of carrying out hisba, that is promoting good and forbidding evil, and that he "lied for the Prophet and not against him". This is considered as one of the worst forms of forgery as it almost succeeds to be convincing and becomes difficult to isolate.
Other themes of hadith forgery include the urge on the part of courtiers who distorted hadith so as to please and flatter their overlords. Similarly, the desire to establish the permissibility or virtue of certain varieties of food, beverages, clothes and customary practices has led to forgery in the hadith. A number of fabricated hadiths have thus been recorded on the virtues of food items such as rice, lentils, aubergines, and places such as Asqalan, months of the year, days and even certain times of the day, and also of personal names such as Ahmed and Muhammad.
Paragraph 19:
Qur'an commentaries (tafsir) in both the tafsir bil-mathur (commentary based on precedent) and tafsir bil-ray varieties have not escaped forgeries especially in regard to what is known as Jewish anecdotes (Israliyat). It is noted in this connection that prior to Islam when the Bedouin and illiterate strata of the Arabian people wanted to learn more about certain subjects such as the origins of creation and its mysteries, turmoil and fitna, and so forth they asked the Jews and Christians who has known of such subjects from the Torah and the Bible. Later when these people converted to Islam they conveyed the information they had in their commentaries and elaborations on the Qur'anic passages, especially on subjects outside the area of the ahkam. Some of the recognised names among the ahl al-kitab such as Abd Allah b. Sallam, Kab al-Ahbar, and Wahb b. Munabbih were famed for their anecdotes and stories some of which then found their way into the context of the Qur'anic commentaries. Since these were stories and anecdotes outside of the ahkam, their veracity was often overlooked. "The Qur'an commentaries treated these relatively lightly and filled their tafsir works with such anecdotes ... " that were of questionable origin and content. (Ibid p. 345.)
Cleansing of Bukhari and Muslim
Jamal al-Banna published a book in which he argues that at least 653 of the hadiths as written in Bukhari and Muslim are incorrect and should not be accepted. The Arabic book is titled: The Cleansing of Bukhari and Muslim from Useless Hadiths (2008).
Jamal al-Banna excludes six kinds of hadiths:
* Those that explain the Qur’an: the Qur’an can’t by explained by hadiths.
* Those that talk bad about women – like the one’s that call them equal to dogs and cows and to beat them up and so on.
* Those that forbid the freedom of religion and that threaten those who leave Islam.
* Those with extreme ideas for encouraging people into Islam and the ones threatening people wit physical violence.
* Those that talk about Muhammad’s miracles.
* Some others of which he thinks that the story is not true at all.
Sunni-Shia and the Division of Islam
When following the Qur'an, we know that there is no such thing as "madhabs" or any sects whatsoever in Islam. There is no Shia, no Sunni. These divisions and conflicts were the outcome of blindly following hadith.
Sunnis and Shias have been against each other for centuries. Shia Muslims have their own set of hadith which came 500 years after the death of the Prophet. While Sunni Muslims have their own set that came 200 years after his death. Both Sunnis and Shias are claiming their sets of hadith is the one that's correct.
No division between Muslims would have happened if most these hadith were actually the word's of our beloved Prophet. Prophet Muhammad's entire life was based on the Qur'an, he never said nor did anything that contradicts it.
"Indeed, those who divide their religion and become sects - you are not with them in anything. Their affair is only to God. Then He will inform them about what they used to do." (Qur'an 6:159)
"But the people divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in what it has, rejoicing." (Qur'an 23:53)
The only way peace and success can be achieved is through following the Qur'an. As God promises the true believers a great life filled with peace and happiness (see 16:30).
"And We have revealed the Book to you which has clear explanation of everything, and a guidance, mercy and good news for those who submit." (Qur'an 16:89)
"Surely, the One who made the Qur’an compulsory for you will summon you to a predetermined appointment. Say: 'My Lord is fully aware of who it is that brings the guidance, and who has gone astray.' " (Qur’an 28:85)
"When they are told: 'Follow what God has sent down to you,' they say: 'We are following what we found our fathers doing.' " (Qur'an: 2:170)
"Do you have another book which you study? In it you find whatever you wish to find?" (Qur’an 68:36-38)
"Say, 'My prayers, sacrifice, my life and death are all for God, Lord of all the Worlds.' " (Qur'an 6:162)
“Believers, bow down, prostrate yourselves, worship your Lord and do good deeds so that you may succeed.” (Qur’an 22:77)
Prophet Muhammad on the Day of Judgement
Most Muslims today are unaware of what the Qur'an says about concepts of faith and carry many views on the Qur'an that are distorted and falsified because they have no direct knowledge of the verses. It is of no surprise that God informs us of a statement of the Prophet Muhammad on the Day of Judgement:
(25:30) And the Messenger will say: O my Lord, my people have deserted this Qur'an.
From the verse above we see that Muhammad will complain against those who have deserted the Qur'an and followed other books instead. As is the case now, today most Muslims follow the texts of hadith and other man-made tales instead of following the Qur'an alone.
Avoid being subject to the Prophet's complaint on the Day of Judgement. Fulfill your obligations and follow the Qur'an and only the Qur'an.
Prophet Muhammad Didn't Create His Own Teachings
The Prophet never created any teachings or rulings of his own, as he is simply the Messenger of God, his job is to bring the Qur'an to the people. He never taught any rules that aren't from the Qur'an. However, when looking through the countless books of hadith, we see numerous innovated teachings and rulings that usually contradict what God says in the Qur'an.
Since the Qur'an tells us that the prophet definitely upheld all the teachings of the Qur'an and does not speak against it, accepting reported 'hadiths' which violates the Qur'an, is disobeying the Messenger! The Messenger could not have done or commanded such a thing! He would have said what the Quranic verses said (and continue to say today). Also, as the Qur'an is the most authentic source, it does not matter how "authentic" that contradictory hadith may be claimed to be by any "scholar". If Quranic verses contradicts a hadith, then it is not possible for that hadith to be valid and truthful. The Qur'an reaffirms that the prophet would have been destroyed if he issued a teaching that contradicts the Qur'an:
This is the utterance of an honorable messenger. (Qur'an 69-40)
And it is not the word of a poet; little is it that you believe. (Qur'an 69:41)
Nor the word of a soothsayer; little is it that you mind. (Qur'an 69-42)
It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. (Qur'an 69-43)
Had he uttered any other teachings. (Qur'an 69-44)
We would have punished him. (Qur'an 69-45)
We would have stopped the revelations to him. (Qur'an 69-46)
None of you could have helped him. (Qur'an 69-47)
As Quranic injunctions are prophetic injunctions, then it follows that obeying Quranic injunctions and way of life meticulously, is obeying Messenger. Therefore, the way to totally 'obey' the Messenger, is to be thoroughly knowledgeable of the Qur'an - always being mindful of its content, and upholding its teachings in all places and time - judging everything by it - and not accepting teachings that go against it, no matter how authentic it is alleged to be by a human being. Anything that goes against the Qur'an lacks all credibility, no matter how many people claim it to be genuine.
To further add, there were people with the Prophet that weren't happy with the Qur'an and wanted something different. These are the same people that fabricated hadith behind the Prophet's back:
"And they nearly diverted you from the revelations We have given you so that you would fabricate something different against Us, and then they would have taken you as a friend!" (Qur'an 17:73)
The Deception of Hadiths Proven by Sunnah.com
Qur'an is Consistent, Hadith is Inconsistent
Hadith books may contain more details. But are those details helpful and consistent with the Qur'an? How does a believer decide between conflicting details? Does he just pick the word of his favorite Imam? If we follow the words of a particular, favorite imam, does that mean that we are really following the practice of the Prophet? For instance, you may find dozens of hadiths in Sahih Muslim narrating that the Prophet Muhammad read al-Fatiha and bowed down, without reading any additional verses from the Qur'an. You will find many other hadiths claiming that the Prophet read this or that chapter after al-Fatiha. There are also many conflicting hadiths regarding ablution which is the source of different rituals among sects. Hadith, more or less of them compounding God's Word with contradictory details, cannot guide to the truth. It has become a necessary evil for ignorant believers and community leaders who manipulate them.
Hadith books narrate a silly story regarding the times of Salat prayer and its ordinance. The story of Mirage is one of the longest hadiths in the Bukhari. Reportedly, after getting frequent advice from Moses by going up and down between the sixth and seventh heaven, Muhammad negotiated with God to reduce the number of prayers from 50 times a day (one prayer for every 28 minutes) to 5 times a day. This hadith portrays Muhammad as a compassionate union leader saving his people from God's unmerciful and impossible demand.
Hadiths Contradict the Qur'an
1. "Sahih" hadith states that adultery and fornication should be punishable by stoning to death.
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 7543
In-book reference: Book 97, Hadith 168
USC-MSA web (English) reference: Vol. 9, Book 93, Hadith 633
While the Quran sees adultery as affecting the other partner in a marriage. It’s a betrayal and a breaking of an oath. But even then it placed very strict standards on that but was lenient when it came to punishing slanderers of women. Adultery needs four witnesses but the slanderer can get punished just from opening his mouth without having four witnesses. It’s clear that the verse made it very difficult to implement on adultery but very easy to implement on the slanderer. Thus why we see that the verses about adultery in chapter 24 are in fact dealing with slandering and not adultery. The Quran wanted to end slandering most likely because of the very common honor killing traditions in tribal societies back then. The Quran gave a symbolic penalty for adultery since any person would lie even under oath when facing lashes. The Quran allowed people to utter disbelief when under duress (16:106), so it knows people will lie to avoid lashing. A slanderer meanwhile needs to produce four witnesses or the penalty of flogging can fall on him. Which means he will have to lie when asked even if he saw something. The truth here is not relevant. Even when a spouse has witnessed something he has to swear but the other party also can swear. Most people as we know will simply lie to avoid the punishment since the punishment of this kind has torment in it. The person can simply repent instead. To make up for this we have the verses in chapter 4 which is the more practical way of dealing with it. The Quran here established that adultery is a major sin but made the penalty for it unpracticable. Its four times easier for a slanderer to get himself in trouble than an adulterer.
Further reading of the verses about the Zani (male adulterer) and Zania (female adulterer) shows us that the issue came up concerning slandering of one of the prophet’s wife presumably.

Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established till a fire will come out of the land of Hijaz, and it will throw light on the necks of the camels at Busra."
Along with the hadiths above, there are hundreds more that describe the signs of the Day of Judgement (creating false characters like Imam Mahdi and Dajjal), which again, goes against the Qur'an which says that the Prophet does not know the unseen. Only God knows the unseen, as God has power and knowledge over all things. The whole chapter in Bukhari named "Afflictions and the End of the World" have been completely fabricated by the enemies of Islam. The same goes for every single hadith recorded that is outside of the Qur'an.
6. Qur'an says:
[23:102] As for those whose weights are heavy, they will be the winners.
[23:103] Those whose weights are light are the ones who lost their souls; they abide in Hell.

[99:8] And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.
[101:6] As for him whose weights are heavy.
[101:7] He will lead a happy (eternal) life.

8. Women in hell
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 1052
In-book reference: Book 16, Hadith 12
USC-MSA web (English) reference: Vol. 2, Book 18, Hadith 161
Narrated by Imran, the Prophet said; "I looked at hell and the majority of its dwellers were women".
In Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 2, Hadith 22, it is explained that the majority of hell is made up of women because they were not grateful to their husbands!
The Qur'an does not support the strange idea which implies that the criteria for attaining heaven is obedience or gratefulness to the husband. The only criteria for attaining heaven is belief in God, refraining from idol worship and observing righteousness. The above two hadith are obviously the product of the culture of Arabs in those days and how they treated women as inferior creatures who must always be subordinate to their husbands! Some Imams today still openly preach such false concepts. Many of them consider the woman to be a distraction and temptation for sin!
9. Dwellers of heaven are mostly poor
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 3241
In-book reference: Book 59, Hadith 52
USC-MSA web (English) reference: Vol. 4, Book 54, Hadith 464
Narrated Usama: The Prophet said, "I stood at the gate of Paradise and saw that the majority of the people who entered it were the poor, while the wealthy were stopped at the gate (for the accounts). But the companions of the Fire were ordered to be taken to the Fire. Then I stood at the gate of the Fire and saw that the majority of those who entered it were women."
Here again is another hadith (considered authentic by most so-called Muslims and their puppet scholars) which clearly contradicts the Qur'an. The Qur'an teaches that the dwellers of Heaven are the most righteous. Righteousness is totally independent of the wealth of a person. This is because righteousness can be maintained through multiple means and not only through monetary spending. Moreover, the Qur'an teaches that God forgives all sins for those who refrain from idol worship (4:48) and who worship Him sincerely. This once again confirms that being poor or being rich will never send a person to hell nor save a person from hell.
10. Moses naked
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 278
In-book reference: Book 5, Hadith 30
USC-MSA web (English) reference: Vol. 1, Book 5, Hadith 277
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, 'The (people of) Bani Israel used to take bath naked (all together) looking at each other. The Prophet Moses used to take a bath alone. They said, 'By Allah! Nothing prevents Moses from taking a bath with us except that he has a scrotal hernia.' So once Moses went out to take a bath and put his clothes over a stone and then that stone ran away with his clothes. Moses followed that stone saying, "My clothes, O stone! My clothes, O stone! till the people of Bani Israel saw him and said, 'By Allah, Moses has got no defect in his body. Moses took his clothes and began to beat the stone." Abu Huraira added, "By Allah! There are still six or seven marks present on the stone from that excessive beating."
The obvious question is: how can any person who calls himself a Muslim believe that the beloved Prophet said such words?
11. Days of the week and creation
Reference: Sahih Muslim 2789
In-book reference: Book 52, Hadith 10
USC-MSA web (English) reference: Book 39, Hadith 6707
Abu Hurayra reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) took hold of my hands and said: "Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, created the clay on Saturday and He created the mountains on Sunday and He created the trees on Monday and He created the things entailing labour on Tuesday and created light on Wednesday and lie caused the animals to spread on Thursday and created Adam (peace be upon him) after 'Asr on Friday; the last creation at the last hour of the hours of Friday, i.e. between afternoon and night."
Another nonsense hadith that defies all scientific knowledge.
12. Wives easy route to heaven
Reference: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1161
In-book reference: Book 12, Hadith 16
English translation: Vol. 1, Book 7, Hadith 1161
Narrated Um Salma: The Messenger of God said; "If a woman dies while her husband was pleased with her, she will enter Paradise."
Needless to say, the Quranic criteria for admission to heaven is belief in God plus righteousness. Obedience to the husband is not a criteria anywhere in the Qur'an.
13. Complete nonsense
Reference: Sunan Abi Dawud 2459
In-book reference: Book 14, Hadith 147
English translation: Book 13, Hadith 2453
Narrated AbuSa'id al-Khudri: "A woman came to the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) while we were with him.
She said: Apostle of Allah, my husband, Safwan ibn al-Mu'attal, beats me when I pray, and makes me break my fast when I keep a fast, and he does not offer the dawn prayer until the sun rises.
He asked Safwan, who was present, about what she had said. He replied: Apostle of Allah, as for her statement "he beats me when I pray", she recites two surahs (during prayer) and I have prohibited her (to do so).
He (the Prophet) said: If one surah is recited (during prayer), that is sufficient for the people.
(Safwan continued:) As regards her saying "he makes me break my fast," she dotes on fasting; I am a young man, I cannot restrain myself.
The Apostle of Allah said on that day: A woman should not fast except with the permission of her husband.
(Safwan said:) As for her statement that I do not pray until the sun rises, we are a people belonging to a class, and that (our profession of supplying water) is already known about us. We do not awake until the sun rises. He said: When you awake, offer your prayer."
Again we note the contradiction between some hadith and the Qur'an. Nowhere in the Qur'an is the husband given the authority to allow or prevent his wife from observing her religious duties! These duties are authorized by God and are totally independent of the relation between a man and his wife, or for that matter, any human relations.
14. God established on the throne on the seventh day
Al-Nesaay:
Abu Huraira said; "God created the Heavens and the Earth in six days then firmly established on the throne on the seventh day."
This seventh day addition is a manipulation of 7:54.

USC-MSA web (English) reference: Book 30, Hadith 5837

In-book reference: Book 91, Hadith 5
USC-MSA web (English) reference: Vol. 9, Book 87, Hadith 115
Abu Qatada said the Prophet said: "The good dream is from God and the bad dream is from Satan. If one of you has a bad dream, you should spit on your left side and seek refuge in God from Satan."
No comment whatsoever.
17. When you spit rub it with left shoe
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 414
In-book reference: Book 8, Hadith 64
USC-MSA web (English) reference: Vol. 1, Book 8, Hadith 406
Narrated Abu Sa`id:
The Prophet (ﷺ) saw sputum on (the wall of) the mosque in the direction of the Qibla and scraped it off with gravel. Then he forbade Spitting in front or on the right, but allowed it on one's left or under one's left foot.
Why on God's green earth would the Prophet Muhammad give directions of where and how to spit? And another question arises, why are people spitting during prayers anyway? Such nonsense!
18. Dip a fly in your food
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 3320
In-book reference: Book 59, Hadith 126
USC-MSA web (English) reference: Vol. 4, Book 54, Hadith 537
Abu Hurayra said; the Messenger of God said; "If a fly falls in your drink, you should immerse it completely in the drink, because in one of the wings is the disease and in the other wing is the healing."
19. Terrorist groups like ISIS and Al Qaeda follow hadith
Sunan Abu Dawud 4356 (Prescribed Punishments, Kitab Al-Hudud):
Some people raided the camels of the Prophet (peace be upon him), drove them off, and apostatized. They killed the herdsman of the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) who was a believer. He (the Prophet) sent (people) in pursuit of them and they were caught. He had their hands and feet cut off, and their eyes put out. The verse regarding fighting against Allah and His Prophet (peace be upon him) was then revealed. These were the people about whom Anas ibn Malik informed al-Hajjaj when he asked him.
Sunan Abu Dawud 4339 (Prescribed Punishments, Kitab Al-Hudud):
The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The blood of a Muslim man who testifies that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah's Apostle should not lawfully be shed except only for one of three reasons: a man who committed fornication after marriage, in which case he should be stoned; one who goes forth to fight with Allah and His Apostle, in which case he should be killed or crucified or exiled from the land; or one who commits murder for which he is killed."
As you can clearly see from the barbaric statements above, evil terrorist groups like ISIS blindly follow hadith as their guidance. So for the majority of Muslims that denounce ISIS, they should first denounce the so called "sahih" hadith that promotes this type of demonic behavior. These fabricated collections of hadith make the Prophet look like a crazed madman, of which he clearly is not. Allah the All-Mighty calls the Prophet "a mercy for all of mankind." (21:107).
20. Drink camel urine
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 5686
In-book reference: Book 76, Hadith 9
USC-MSA web (English) reference: Vol. 7, Book 71, Hadith 590
Narrated Anas: The climate of Medina did not suit some people, so the Prophet ordered them to follow his shepherd, i.e. his camels, and drink their milk and urine.
21. Burn down the houses of people who don't pray
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 2420
In-book reference: Book 44, Hadith 10
USC-MSA web (English) reference: Vol. 3, Book 41, Hadith 602
The Prophet (SAW) said, "No doubt, I intended to order somebody to pronounce the Iqama of the (compulsory congregational) prayer and then I would go to the houses of those who do not attend the prayer and burn their houses over them."
This same fabricated hadith is also listed in Sunan Abi Dawud's collection:
Reference: Sunan Abi Dawud 548
In-book reference: Book 2, Hadith 158
English translation: Book 2, Hadith 548
“The Messenger of Allah said: 'Let men desist from failing to attend the congregation, otherwise I will burn their houses down.' "
Conclusion
An explanation of all things - Quran
Above are just a few shocking examples we find in supposed "authentic" hadith books. Those who refuse to discard all hadiths and try to find a way in between only remove the cancer partially. Sunni and Shia Islam are truly horrible religions, in fact, they can't even be deemed religion, they're more like cults.
Most Muslims who are given a chance to follow the path of the Qur'an alone refuse to purify their faith because of lack of sincerity and/or social pressure. The incredible irony is that the very same people who have accepted hadiths in the first place, would have been horrified by them, and would have strongly condemned them if they had been born in a different family, in a different religion, in a different country. So what is wrong with them?
Would you delegate the interpretation of the law in your society to a serial killer who stones to death the adulterer, kills the apostates, burns people who refuse to pray, mutilates women and marries 6 year olds? Would such a despicable serial killer still deserve any credit, if we discarded the horrors, when it comes to interpret the rest of the law ? Or should his interpretations be entirely discarded and rethought according to the only law (God's law) and the only school of thought (the Qur'an alone) that deserves any credit?
A profound prophecy given by God in the Qur'an tells us how Satan and his allies will fabricate fancy words and attribute them to the prophets of God, and how some will uphold such false hadith:
"We have permitted the enemies of every prophet - human and jinn devils - to inspire to each other fancy words, in order to deceive. Had your Lord willed, they would not have done it. You shall disregard them and their fabrications. This is to let the minds of those who do not believe in the Hereafter listen to such fabrications, and accept them, and thus expose their real convictions." (Qur'an 6:112-113)
Those that follow hadith:
"But there is a sort of person who pays for distracting Hadith (حَدِيث), intending, without knowledge, to lead others away from God's way, and to make a mockery of it. These will have a humiliating punishment! And when Our Verses are recited to such a person, he turns away arrogantly, as if he had not heard them! As if there were heaviness in his ears! Give him good news of a painful punishment!" (Qur'an 31:6-7)
"These are the verses of God that We recite to you with truth. Then in what Hadith (حَدِيث) after God and His verses will they believe?" (Qur'an 45:6)
Why most so-called Muslims don't accept the Qur'an alone:
When they are told: 'Follow what God has sent down to you,' they say: 'We are following what we found our fathers doing.' (Qur'an: 2:170)
As seen from above, the countless hadith and tafsir works clearly contradict with the Qur'an and thus should be classified as fabricated, regardless of them being "sahih" or not. The hadith where the Prophet talks about kissing his 6 year old wife Aisha and sucking her tongue is considered "sahih", and the other hadith that suggests that Mohammad was gifted with the sexual stamina of 30 men is also considered "sahih". All the examples of hadith that we listed above were all "sahih" as well. As they were from the "Sahih" Bukhari and "Sahih" Muslim books.
In the course of this study, we've proven that Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim were flat out liars and that their texts should be thrown in the trash. If a hadith contradicts with the Qur'an, then it is not possible for that hadith to be valid and truthful. Like said earlier, the Qur'an reaffirms that the Prophet would have been destroyed if he issued a teaching that contradicts the Qur'an.
There are no orders in the Qur'an to follow any book other than the Qur'an. In fact, it always speaks against the following of other books as religious guidance. Everytime the word "hadith" is used in the Qur'an, it is spoken of negatively. The verses state that the only true hadith is the Qur'an, the book of God. The believer must take the Qur'an as their only guide and disregard all other religious texts.
Of course, it follows: what is the purpose of protecting the Qur'an from corruption, if its meanings can only be reached through corruptible sources, such as hadith or tafsir works developed between 200 to 700 years after the Prophet's death? There would be no point as the purpose would be defeated. Therefore, it only adds more sense to why God has contained the Qur'an's interpretation within the Qur'an itself, just as God states in the verses.
The Qur'an contains no contradictions or fabrications whatsoever. God has promised to protect his final revelation from any form of corruption. When you need guidance, look for it in the Qur'an, as the Qur'an is complete and fully detailed. It is all that a true believer really needs.
Those who wish to remove people away from the Qur'an revealed by God have the only tactic to take verses and twist them to their liking or by adding secondary sources to the Qur'an, when God specifically tells us that the Qur'an is complete and fully detailed. Their twists are strikingly obvious to the genuine follower of the Qur'an - the truth is no match for falsehood.
These hadith texts are innovations that contradict with the pure teachings of the Qur'an. It is the Qur'an that defines Islam and anything outside of the Qur'an is not in Islam.
Satan is constantly trying to show Islam in the worst way through establishing man made innovations such as Hadith and Sunnah. The Muslim world is suffering because of abandoning the book of God and upholding such innovations of which have been falsely attributed to the Prophet Muhammad.
The Qur'an is complete and fully detailed:
"And We have revealed the Book to you which has clear explanation of everything, and a guidance, mercy and good news for those who submit." (Qur'an 16:89)
"We have cited in this Qur'an every example for the people. But the human being is always most argumentative." (Qur'an 18:54)
“Shall I then seek a Judge other than God? When it is He Who has revealed to you the Book fully detailed?” (Qur'an 6:114)
"Alif Lam Ra. These are the signs of the Scripture, and a clear Qur'an." (Qur’an 15:1)
"Should We treat the ones who have surrendered the same as those who are criminals? What is wrong with you, how do you judge? Or do you have another book which you study? In it you find whatever you wish to find?" (Qur’an 68:36-38)
“The words of your Lord are complete in its truth and justice. Nothing can change His words – He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. If you obeyed most of those on earth, they would lead you away from the path of God. They follow nothing but speculation – they are merely guessing.” (Qur’an 6:115-116)
"And we place shields over their hearts, that they should not understand it, and a deafness in their ears. And if you mention your Lord in the Qur'an alone, they run away turning their backs in aversion." (Qur'an 17:46)
"We have sent down to you a Book containing your message. Do you not understand?" (Qur'an 21:10)
The path of true righteousness is by following the Qur'an alone, this is true Islam. The same Islam that God perfected 1400 years ago (5:3). The same Islam followed by Abraham and the prophets before and after him. Follow the footsteps of our beloved prophets by following only the book of God, the book that is complete, fully detailed, and will always be preserved in it's original Arabic form:
(15:9) Indeed it is We who have sent down the Reminder, and indeed it is We who will preserve it.
(56:77) It is an honorable Qur'an.
(56:78) In a protected Book.
God states that the interpretation of the Qur'an, is in the Qur'an itself. In other words, the Qur'an explains itself:
"It is such that We clarify the revelations for a people who think." (Qur’an 10:24)
